The North East’s community choir for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans people and our lovely ‘gay friendly’ mates. We sing all types of music under professional direction. We meet every Thursday evening from 7.00pm. New members always welcome. Come along and find out what we’re all about or contact us if you want more information.
What do we sing?
Absolutely anything and everything, from show tunes to Alloe Blacc.

Singing Tutor and Accompanist
Northern Proud Voices had their first rehearsal on Friday 25th March 2011 and Andrew Richardson played piano for us. He's been with us from the very beginning and we're happy to tell you two years later he's still supporting choir as a singing tutor and accompanist. Andrew said, "I have very much enjoyed accompanying Northern Proud Voices and watching them grow and evolve as a choir." He lives in South Shields and works as a peripatetic pianist for many Primary Schools in the South Tyneside area. He has written several musicals for children which have been performed all around the borough. Andrew is also the resident pianist for popular singing group 'Encore' who perform at the Customs House twice a year. He loves all styles of music but admittedly his favourite genre is musical theatre.
Alan Dick joined Northern Proud Voices because he wanted to sing again. His classical music training soon started to benefit choir. He arranged our music, stood in for the accompanist and on occasions lead choir. He has proven to be a great asset to the progress of Northern Proud Voices. Alan has forty years experience of church music and has written many pieces both religious and secular, including for pantomimes. He loves all music from Bach to the Beatles (and beyond) but is interested in the more exotic and unusual such as gamalan, classical Indian and flamenco. He was also acting musical director during the recruitment process of our new MD.
